The 2.5 layer paper machine forming fabric of a paper machine is the continuous belt or belts of mesh screen upon which the paper sheet is formed. Most modern 2.5 layer polyester forming fabric are comprised of polyester monofilament. The weave pattern and layering of a 2.5 layer forming mesh is designed to meet stringent requirements of dimensional stability, resistance to abrasion (on the wire side), minimum resistance to drainage, minimum wire-mark, and (sometimes) maximization of retention of fiber fines.
 

The SSB 3 layers forming fabric or "wire" of a paper machine is the continuous belt or belts of mesh screen upon which the paper sheet is formed. Most modern SSB 3 layer forming fabric are comprised of polyester monofilament. The weave pattern and layering of a SSB 3 layer forming fabric is designed to meet stringent requirements of dimensional stability, resistance to abrasion (on the wire side), minimum resistance to drainage, minimum wire-mark, and (sometimes) maximization of retention of fiber fines.

The forming fabrics of paper machine clothing (PMC) are playing a crucial role to dewater the pulp and form the paper sheet, support the sheet as it formed and carry to the next pressing section during the paper production. It’s composed of one or two endless fabric loops.

The fabric acts as a conveyor and a dewatering device. As the fabric moves, water drains through it, while the fibers and fillers that form the paper structure form on the top of the fabric as the paper sheet is created.

 

A properly designed constructed and maintained forming mesh will help the former produce a sheet that meets end-products specification at an acceptable production rate. In addition to excellent fiber support, efficient dewatering property, make the smooth surface of the sheet, the forming fabrics also has good running stability and abrasion-resistant capacity.

 

In the forming section of the paper machine, a mixture of approximately 99% water and 1% cellulose fibers and filler material is introduced uniformly across the width of the forming fabric. During this process, the forming fabric acts as both a conveyor belt and a dehydrator. When the fabric moves quickly, more than 96% of the water is drained through the special voids in the fabric, while the fibers and fillers remain on top of the fabric to form a paper sheet structure. kaibang has constantly improved their forming fabric technology and created fabrics providing excellent runnability, high wear resistance, long running time, good paper profiles and good retention.

The Triple-layer forming fabrics has congenital insufficiency. First, the upper layer and the bottom layer are easily dislocated due to the force or damage of the connecting line or even “divided” and scrapped. Second, the bonding line has a negative effect on both forming and dehydration. In order to overcome these shortcomings, we have the self-supported binder (SSB) forming fabrics. Traditionally, all SSB (sheet support binding) fabrics have had direct drainage channels. In the polarized structure, the machine direction yarns on both the paper side and the roll side are shifted to form an off-stacked structure. This special structure removes the direct drainage channels traditionally used in forming fabrics.

The unique polarized structure allows controlled initial drainage in the paper-making process. That improves retention and helps keeping the machine clean. Good runnability and cleanliness reduce breaks and therefore increase production capacity remarkably. Cost-savings are created by being able to use less chemicals
